El proyecto artístico de Álvaro Aroca Córdova es un viaje lejano a través de la mutación de historias vegetales perdidas y olvidadas en las memorias de personas de barrios del sureste de Ámsterdam y de zonas rurales del sur de Chile. A partir de su relación con el entorno, Córdova construye un futuro en el que la naturaleza será una memoria codificada de relaciones vegetales y experiencias personales. Ahora, mediante la creación de seres orgánicos, reinterpreta el estudio de la escritura a mano en relación con la psicología de los pueblos originarios, en un futuro que une el cuerpo, la memoria y las especies vegetales. Una simbiosis entre la memoria y la naturaleza olvidada, desde la experiencia de ser y sentir, bajo la construcción cultural y social de cada persona.
Al codificar dibujos de plantas y memorias de personas de todas las edades y distintos contextos culturales, Córdova creó dos tótems/cuerpos bordados sobre lienzo, como una memoria natural viva. En este viaje de sensaciones con lo que le rodea, realizó diferentes acciones en espacios abiertos para reconfigurar la relación entre el cuerpo y el espacio. Se trata de una búsqueda de mecanismos capaces de eliminar las fronteras entre lo orgánico y el lugar ocupado. Cuando esto se logra, solo permanece la memoria, que se vuelve a habitar para revivir la experiencia con el propio lugar.
The artistic project of Alvaro Aroca Cordova is a distant journey through the mutation of lost and forgotten plant stories in the memories of people from neighbourhoods of Amsterdam Southeast and rural areas of southern Chile. From his relationship with the environment, Cordova builds a future where nature will be a coded memory of plant relationships and personal experiences. Now, through the creation of organic beings, he reinterprets the study of handwriting in relation to psychology of native people in a future that unites the body, memory and plant species. A symbiosis between memory and forgotten nature, from the experience of being and feeling, under the cultural and social construct of each person. By coding plant drawings and memories of people of all ages and different cultural backgrounds, Cordova created two totem/bodies embroidered on canvas, as a living natural memory. In this journey of sensations with what surrounds him, he performed different actions in open spaces to reconfigure the relationship between body and space. This is a search for mechanisms capable of eliminating boundaries between the organic and the occupied place. When this is achieved only the memory remains, re-inhabiting it to relive the experience with the place itself.
